TLC Pet Care Specialist

Do you love animals? Do you love being outside? This might be the right place for you to start.

Pet Care Specialists are the backbone of our business. They are a permanent position, working part-time. They visit pets daily. They drive to the pets family home, greet the pet, and perform the services. Generally this is taking dogs for walk, other times is playing with the puppy or cat, or spending time with rabbits, hamsters or birds. It may simply be feeding the aquatic pets. Each visit is unique, and you’ll get to know the pets you care for, and their families.

As a Pet Care Specialist, you are entrusted with the care of a family member who is well-loved. You’ll be responsible for safely handling the pet and carrying out other services as requested on your visit, reporting back to your Team Leader or your Manager, and making notes about your visit.

Job Duties Include (but are not limited to):

  • Visiting the client’s home and feeding and walking pets during scheduled times

  • Completing an online report of feeding times, animal behaviour and any other noteworthy happenings, such as failure to eat

  • Logging in and out at the pet family home

  • Uploading photos to the private TLC Dog Walking Facebook Page.

  • Potentially staying overnight, or, as needed, providing companionship and comfort for the pet, but this is not a compulsory part of the post

  • Depending on client needs and pet sitter experience, you may also provide additional services, such as bathing or yard clean up, again not compulsory

  • Respecting the confidentiality inherent in working inside client’s homes and following pet care instructions explicitly

  • Wedding Chaperone for the pet family special day.

  • Picking up poo on walks
